WOOL CARE GUIDE

TIPS FOR YOUR WOOL ITEM

Of course you want your favourite items to last as long as possible, but what's the best way to take good care of wool? We give you a few tips:

DON'T WASH TOO OFTEN

Wool is a soft and breathable fabric. Hence, it does not need to be washed as often as you think. The material has a natural protective layer, making it resistant to dirt and dust. So, feel free to wear your favourite jumper for an extra day. Let your woolen items hang to air them.

LET IT DRY NATURALLY

When the time does come to wash your woolen garments, we recommend using a special wool detergent. Keep the washing temperature to 30°C and use a low spin setting. Always leave woolen items to dry flat after a wash - to avoid sagging - and most importantly, keep the dryer off. Don't forget to wring out the excess water from the fabric as well, this will reduce its weight.

PREVENT SAGGING

Also important for maintaining your favourite garments: proper storage. Letting them hang in your wardrobe is bad for woolen items. These stretch and thus lose their fine fit. Therefore, store knitwear in drawers.

PREVENT PILLING

Wool is a durable fabric. However, you might find that your jumper, cardigan or dress starts to pill over time. This is caused by friction and is perfectly normal. But of course, this does not mean you should leave it at that, because pilling can be easily removed with a fluff clipper. On top of that, you can combat lint and pilling by using a laundry bag.
