LINEN CARE GUIDE

TIPS FOR YOUR LINEN ITEM

Of course you want your favourite items to last as long as possible, but what's the best way to take good care of linen? We give you a few tips:

DON'T WASH TOO OFTEN

Linen is a naturally strong material and therefore has a long lifespan. Nevertheless, it's important to take proper care of the fabric because – as you may know – this durable, plant-based fabric is very prone to creasing and shrinking. We would thus advise you to wash your favourite linen garments as little as possible, after all, you don't need to do this as often as you might expect. Instead of the washing machine, let your items hang to air and freshen up.

PREVENT LOSS OF COLOUR AND FIT

Does your garment have a stain that really needs washing? Then be sure to do so on a low spin setting and at 30°C maximum, as high temperatures can affect the colourfastness and fit of linen. Also keep in mind to separate dark and light colours. In addition, we advise you to wash delicate fabrics like this one with special detergents and cleaners, recognisable by the labels Ecocert, EU Ecolabel and Nordic Swan Ecolabel. A trusty hand wash is even better, don't forget to rinse your clothes with lukewarm water when doing so.

LET IT DRY NATURALLY

To avoid any creases and musty odours, always remove linen clothing items from the washing machine immediately after a wash. The use of a dryer is strongly discouraged. Rather, dry them in the (outdoor) air and smooth out folds or creases effortlessly when the items are still damp.

PREVENT WRINKLES

Avoid using thin hangers or clips to store your linen garments, these can affect the fit. Any items coming out of your wardrobe wrinkled? Hang them in the bathroom during a hot shower. The steam in the room will reduce wrinkles, allowing you to immediately wrap yourself in this fine, airy fabric.
